Frequently Asked Questions

How does this initiative help the village women?

Many village women face significant barriers to opportunity, including limited access to education and few pathways to stable employment. Traditional patriarchal norms often restrict their roles within society, making financial independence difficult to attain. Additionally, the rapid urbanization surrounding villages has pushed many women into low-paying, servile labor with little dignity or security.

Her Hands International offers an alternative — providing women with the training, resources, and support needed to pursue respectable, sustainable livelihoods. By equipping them with artisan skills and placing them in empowering work environments, the project enables these women to step outside societal constraints and build a more hopeful, self-determined future.

How are the women paid?

The artisan women of Her Hands International are compensated on a per-product basis, ensuring a direct link between their work and their income. For each item they create, the women receive 30–40% of the product's sale price. This portion serves as their personal income and is a key step toward financial independence.

The remaining percentage of the product cost goes toward materials, training, and operational expenses — all of which are essential for sustaining the project and expanding its impact.

This model ensures that every purchase directly supports the women behind the craft, while also helping the initiative remain self-sustaining and scalable.
